In July 2018, Martin Garrix invited his friend Kristoffer Fogelmark, known as Bonn, to perform “High On Life” together during the closing set of Tomorrowland. After the show, still energized and not ready to call it a night, Martin, Bonn, and their friend Albin Nedler kept the creative momentum going. Martin picked up his guitar, and that late-night session led to the birth of a new track: “No Sleep.”
Built around uplifting melodies and optimistic lyrics, “No Sleep” carries a simple message, they can’t fall asleep because they are already living their dream.
The single was released on February 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM (Amsterdam time), premiering live on YouTube where 36,000 viewers tuned in. The track quickly surpassed one million views within 48 hours, while streaming numbers on Spotify doubled just as fast.
The official music video, filmed in January in Aspen, Las Vegas, and Scottsdale, Arizona, has a raw, handheld style that feels like a personal home movie. It captures pure friendship, freedom, and the joy of being in the moment.
