Martin Garrix
Hold On
with Matisse & Sadko
feat. Michel Zitron
Martin Garrix premiered “Hold On” during Amsterdam Dance Event in October 2019, introducing the track live to fans before its official release. At the time, he had just released “Used To Love,” and anticipation around new music was already high.
The track reunites Martin with longtime collaborators Matisse & Sadko, with whom he had previously worked on “Break Through The Silence,” “Together,” and “Forever.” The record also features Swedish vocalist Michel Zitron, known for his distinctive melodic toplines within the progressive house scene.
Martin shared that he always enjoys working with Matisse & Sadko and was excited to test the track during his ADE show, highlighting the strong crowd response that night. Matisse & Sadko also explained that it had become a tradition to collaborate with Martin in the studio before ADE each autumn. Several versions of the track were created before the final one was chosen.
Musically, “Hold On” leans into melodic progressive house, built around an emotional vocal performance and an uplifting drop. The track fits within the same melodic lineage as “High On Life” and “Mistaken,” reinforcing the signature festival sound that has defined many STMPD RCRDS releases.
“I always love working with my good friends Matisse & Sadko and I was super excited to test the track during my show at Amsterdam Dance Event! The response of all the fans was amazing!”

I thought my heart was gone
After I lost it all
Felt I was falling down
Still I chose to be proud
Until I hit the ground
You got me back on my feet again
You said that lovers come and they go
You said that time will pass but I’ll stay your friend
I’ll help you up when you feel alone
I was lonely
But after all you told me I’d be okay
‘Cause friends are worth a whole lot more than money
I hope that everyone who’s felt like me
Can hold on and believe
I was lonely
But after all you told me I’d be okay
‘Cause friends are worth a whole lot more than money
Hope that everyone who’s felt like me
Can hold on and believe
I started looking back
At all I used to have
I’ve never felt so low
Where did everyone go
When I need them most
You got me back on my feet again
You said that lovers come and they go
You said that time will pass but I’ll stay your friend
I’ll help you up when you feel alone
I was lonely
But after all you told me I’d be okay
‘Cause friends are worth a whole lot more than money
I hope that everyone who’s felt like me
Can hold on and believe
I was lonely
But after all you told me I’d be okay
‘Cause friends are worth a whole lot more than money
I hope that everyone who’s felt like me
Can hold on and believe
