With Set Me Free, Martin Garrix explores new territory by stepping into drum and bass. The track is produced together with Arcando and features the distinctive voice of Bonn. Fans were especially happy to hear Bonn again on a Garrix record, several years after their previous collaboration No Sleep in 2019.
Arcando is a Dutch producer known for his melodic bass and drum and bass productions. Before collaborating officially with Garrix, he had already worked with the Dutch superstar’s music through several remixes. One that many fans remember is his drum and bass reinterpretation of Scared to Be Lonely, which gave a completely new energy to the iconic track and circulated widely within the melodic bass scene. Versions of these edits even found their way into festival sets, including during Ultra Miami era performances.
The combination of Bonn’s emotional vocals and the fast-paced rhythm gives the track a very different energy compared to Garrix’s usual progressive house productions.
Set Me Free was released on August 22, 2025, as part of the Origo project.
