Released on Spinnin’ Records, the track arrived at a moment when Garrix was rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about new names in electronic music.

Driven by a bright melodic lead and a powerful big-room drop, Wizard quickly found its place in DJ sets and festival line-ups. The record reached No. 1 on the Beatport chart and entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 7, confirming that Garrix’s breakthrough with Animals was far from a one-off success. An official music video accompanied the release and helped the track spread even further among EDM fans.

The collaboration with Jay Hardway was already well established by that time. The two Dutch producers had previously worked together on Error 404 and Registration Code, and Wizard continued that studio partnership that played an important role in Garrix’s early career. The track would later appear on the Gold Skies EP released in 2014, a collection of singles that captured the first chapter of Martin Garrix’s rise on the global electronic scene.
